+GIST: @CynthiaYakie Rises Fast with Two Awards won in a Weekend and a Performance at AWLO Global Youth Council Launch

One of Nigeria’s fastest rising artistes is fast becoming a sensation of sorts not just in her base in Port Harcourt but also in Lagos and gradually across Nigeria. 

Her name is Cynthia Yakie and lately, she has been in the news and on social media timelines due to the buzz around her and her music. 

With the recent release of her single, TAMARA, Cynthia has latched onto the listening ears of music fans and the demand for her performances and commendations from her efforts has peaked over time. 

In one weekend, she won two awards in Lagos and in Port Harcourt for her record label, GY Empire, at the ARISE OH NIGERIA Conference & Awards in Lagos and another at the GARDEN CITY AWARDS held at Presidential Hotel, Port Harcourt. 

These came as attestation for the impact of her song and the visibility strides made by her label to spread the song across to music lovers within and outside Nigeria.

Cynthia was also billed to perform live at the Youth Council Launch of the renowned Africa Women in Leadership Organization (AWLO). The event held in Sheraton Hotel in Lagos and she performed alongside Frank Edwards as a headlining act for the event. 

Indeed, her’s has been a rather phenomenal rise within a short time and with the quality of her songs and widespread commendations, it is obvious that Nigeria has gotten yet another songstress that will carry on the torch in musicmanship like the likes of Onyeka Owenu, Frank Edwards, etc. 


Cynthia Ebikeniye Yakie (born 25 Dec 1994) is more commonly known as Cynthia Yakie. She is a Nigerian Gospel artist, bred in Delta State. She started her musical exploits as a soloist at her local Church's choir, Jesus Cares  Gospel Centre(JCGC) Ghana. Because of her love for music and passion to touch lives positively, she decided to take her music to a professional level. Cynthia is also a makeup artist.

Miss Cynthia Ebikeniye Yakie obtained her first degree in Computer Science at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2015. She did a certificate and diploma program in Computer Science and also has a diploma in makeup artistry at Blacksecret Makeup Beauty School, 2015.

 Cynthia featured in her first talent hunt audition (Grab Da Mic) in Port Harcourt in 2009. Her second was in 2010 (Festrut African talent Hunt) Abuja and her third in Ghana (Glo Xfactor) 2012. She has performed live for quite a number of events.
Cynthia is a trustee of God's Divine Favour Youth & Widows initiative (GDFYWI) and also the director of God's Divine Favour Consult Int'l ltd (GDFCI).
 She is the founder of Cyncyn's Makeover/Artistry.
